USU Archives Office Holds Archival Appraisal Committee Meeting for Records Disposition

USU ARCHIVES: The Archives Office of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received an official visit from the Secretary and Archivist of the Aceh One-Stop Integrated Investment and Public Services Office (DPMPTSP Aceh) as well as the Head of the General Affairs Subdivision of the Aceh Land Office on Thursday, 20 November 2025. The visit was conducted as part of efforts to deepen understanding of archival management systems, particularly regarding the implementation of dynamic records governance in government institutions.
The visiting delegation was directly welcomed by the Head and management team of the USU Archives Office. On this occasion, the USU team explained various processes, standards, and archival management infrastructure that have been implemented, ranging from records creation mechanisms and classification systems to procedures for transfer and disposition of dynamic records.

In addition to presentations, participants were given the opportunity to tour the archival management facilities to directly observe how the USU Archives Office implements records management practices in accordance with modern archival principles. Various innovations, such as the application of archival information systems, archival loan service workflows, and archival protection and security policies, were also highlighted during the visit.
Representatives from DPMPTSP Aceh stated that the visit reflects their commitment to improving the quality of archival governance within their respective institutions. By understanding best practices implemented at USU, it is expected that government institutions in Aceh can strengthen effective, transparent, and accountable archival systems.
The visit took place in an interactive atmosphere and concluded with a discussion session and a group photo as a symbol of the positive relationship established between educational institutions and government agencies in strengthening a culture of orderly archival management.
