Medan, August 4, 2026 – On the second day of the Field Verification for the Accreditation of the Higher Education Archival Institution (LKPT) at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), the Assessment Team conducted spot checks at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) and the Faculty of Medicine (FK) on Monday (July 27, 2026).

The spot check is one of the stages in the field verification process aimed at confirming the consistency between the accreditation documents previously submitted and the actual implementation of archival management within the university’s work units. Through this activity, the Assessment Team directly reviewed archival governance practices at the faculty level.

At the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, the visit began with a welcome reception from the faculty leadership and the archival management team. The assessors then examined archival documents, observed archival facilities and infrastructure, and reviewed the archival management processes implemented within the faculty.

The assessment continued at the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara. During the visit, the Assessment Team examined the management of active and inactive records, storage systems, archival preservation practices, and the implementation of archival policies that support administrative operations within the faculty.

The spot-check process was carried out smoothly with the support and cooperation of all stakeholders at both the Faculty of Cultural Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine. The activity formed an important part of the accreditation assessment process by providing a comprehensive picture of archival management practices across Universitas Sumatera Utara.

Through this field verification process, Universitas Sumatera Utara reaffirmed its commitment to establishing orderly, accountable, and standards-compliant archival governance in accordance with the accreditation requirements for Higher Education Archival Institutions. The results of the verification are expected to serve as both an evaluation and a catalyst for the continuous improvement of archival management quality across all USU work units.
