USU Archives Office Receives Visit from the Tebing Tinggi City Regional Library and Archives Office

The Archives Office of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received a visit from the Tebing Tinggi City Regional Library and Archives Office on Friday, 26 September 2025. The visit aimed to obtain references and inputs for the drafting of a Regional Regulation on Archival Administration, particularly in relation to the preparation of an Academic Paper as a scientific and rational foundation for regulatory formulation. The meeting took place in a collaborative atmosphere, during which the USU Archives Office provided various technical explanations and shared best practices in archival governance that may serve as references.

USU ARCHIVES: The Archives Office of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) officially received a visit from the Tebing Tinggi City Regional Library and Archives Office for consultation and data collection related to the drafting of the Tebing Tinggi City Regional Regulation on Archival Administration on Friday, 26 September 2025.

 

 

The visit aimed to obtain technical inputs and references from USU as an institution that has established comprehensive, structured, and nationally standardized archival governance. The delegation from the Tebing Tinggi City Regional Library and Archives Office was welcomed by the leadership and archival management team of the USU Archives Office.


During the meeting, discussions focused on the need to prepare an Academic Paper as a scientific, rational, and logical basis for the formulation of laws and regulations concerning regional archival administration.
 

 

The USU Archives Office provided explanations on archival concepts and fundamental principles; dynamic and static archival governance practices within higher education institutions; the importance of implementing archival information systems; and examples of internal regulations that may be used as references.

Through this visit, it is expected that the Tebing Tinggi City Government will be able to formulate a comprehensive, adaptive Regional Regulation aligned with the needs of modern archival administration.


The USU Archives Office warmly welcomed this collaboration and expressed its hope to continue providing academic contributions and technical assistance in improving the quality of archival governance across various regional government institutions.
