The event began with the singing of the Indonesia Raya song and the delivery of remarks by the Head of the Archives Office, Mrs Aisyah, SE, MSi; in her remarks, she said, "The impact of accidents and natural disasters that occur not only causes loss of property or material but also the potential loss of important archives spread throughout the archive creator. Therefore, archive managers need to know the efforts to protect and save archives."
Furthermore, remarks as well as opening the event by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, MKed (OG), SpOG (K) -FER as Secretary of Universitas Sumatera Utara in his remarks "through this activity the rector hopes that participants will be able to understand and follow a series of socialization activities so that it not only makes us employees who are reliable in administration but also reliable in saving the university's collective memory in the form of archives."
In his material, Gema Halelu Isa Meliala, ST, MT, as the Head of the Rescue Division of Medan City Fire Department, stated that overcoming disasters and fires can be done through preparation, reaction and recovery to minimize all risks caused by disasters and fires.
This event aims to increase the awareness, concern, and skills of the academic community at Universitas Sumatera Utara on the importance of preparedness to save and maintain the collective memory, history, and identity of Universitas Sumatera Utara, both before, during and after a disaster or fire.
