Destruction of Records Across 26 Work Units at Universitas Sumatera Utara
USU Archives Office Holds Archival Appraisal Committee Meeting for Records Disposition

USU ARCHIVES: Universitas Sumatera Utara once again held its annual awards event, “USU Awards 2025,” as part of the celebration of its 73rd Anniversary. The event was held festively at the USU Student Center and attended by members of the academic community from various faculties and work units across USU.
In addition to the main awards ceremony, USU Awards 2025 also served as the announcement of the results of the Awarding for the Best Archival Managers and Archival Units of 2025, which represents an important component of efforts to improve archival governance quality at Universitas Sumatera Utara. The assessment process was carried out over a one-month period, from 8 July to 8 August 2025, and was conducted onsite at the USU Archives Office.
The archival assessment activities consisted of several main stages:
Socialization of the program to all work units within USU; Preparation of assessment instruments based on National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) standards and internal university policies; Direct assessments, including site visits, document reviews, and interviews with archival managers; Recapitulation of assessment results to determine rankings for the Archive Awarding 2025; and Presentation of awards to work units achieving the highest scores.
The assessment involved 52 Archival Management Units from various faculties, institutes, directorates, bureaus, boards, and other work units within USU. On average, each faculty was represented by 10 participants consisting of faculty, study program, and sub-division representatives, while other work units were represented by an average of two participants.
The implementation of this activity not only resulted in a list of award recipients but also encouraged improvements in archival management quality across all work units. Through this comprehensive assessment process, USU hopes to establish more professional, orderly, and sustainable archival governance throughout the university.

This award was presented to work units that demonstrated outstanding performance in academic management, services, and innovation over the past year. The winners were:

3rd Place: Dental and Oral Hospital (@rsgm.usu)
Winners of the Best Archival Personnel Award
This award was presented to individuals who made significant contributions to archival management at USU. The recipients were:
1st Place: Yulia Nanda Putri, S.S. (FMIPA)
2nd Place: Rudi Salim, S.Sos. (RSGM)
3rd Place: Ade Marlina, S.Pd., M.Ak. (Board of Trustees)
The event concluded with congratulations and hopes that the awards will serve as motivation for all units and members of the academic community to continuously improve service quality and governance, particularly in the field of archival management.
