Destruction of Archives at the Dental and Oral Hospital, Universitas Sumatera Utara

This archive destruction activity is an implementation of Rector Regulation No. 23 of 2021 on Archival Management Guidelines and ANRI Regulation No. 25/2012 on Archive Destruction Guidelines. The purpose of this destruction is to reduce the number of archives that have exceeded their retention period and no longer hold any value.

The Dental and Oral Hospital of Universitas Sumatera Utara conducted ceremonial archive destruction, accompanied by the Universitas Sumatera Utara Archives Office, representatives from the Directorate of Law and Organization, and the USU Internal Supervisory Agency, at the Dental and Oral Hospital USU's backyard on December 31, 2024.

This archive destruction activity implements Rector Regulation No. 23 of 2021 on Archival Management Guidelines and ANRI Regulation No. 25/2012 on Archive Destruction Guidelines. This destruction aims to reduce the number of archives that have exceeded their retention period and no longer hold any value.

Archive destruction eliminates records that no longer have utility and have surpassed their storage period. Reducing archives through destruction is one way to decrease the volume of records, thereby creating efficiency and effectiveness in archival management. Archive destruction is also an effort to maintain the security of the information in the documents from misuse by irresponsible parties.

The ceremonial archive destruction at RSGM USU was attended by the Deputy Director of the Dental and Oral Hospital, drg. Ranu Putra Armidin, M.K.M, Administration and Cooperation Officer of RSGM, Rudi Salim, S.Sos, Head of Facilities and Infrastructure Unit, Jandri D. Limbong, AMTE, Facilities and Infrastructure Member, Andri Prasetyo, Medical Records Officers, Sri Wahyuni, A.Md, RMIK and Sastra Ali, A.Md, RMIK.

The archives destroyed were those that had met the archive retention schedule and had undergone a reassessment process. They were burned. The Archive Destruction Committee conducted the destruction, which was witnessed by Agung Firmansyah from the Directorate of Law and Organization and Rahmadiani from the Internal Supervisory Agency. Afterward, an official report on the archive destruction was signed together with the witnesses.
