Tuesday, September 14, 2021, The USU Archives Office received a visit from the Archivist from the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) of Medan City to the Universitas Sumatera Archives Office in the context of consulting regarding the management of Archives which was opened by the Head of the USU Archives Office Mrs. Aisyah, SE., M.Si and at the same time presented the Profile, Services, Facilities and Achievements of the USU Archives Office.
As archive management staff, Raisa Dwi Safitri, S.Si., and Luknah Uyuni, S.Sos explained the procedures for managing archives in the USU Archives meeting room. The presentation began with an explanation of Archival Instrumentation in the form of Rector Regulations, Office Manuscripts, Archive Classification, Archive Retention Schedules and Security and Archive Access Classification Systems. The presentation continued by explaining the management of dynamic and static archives, starting from the archive being created until the archive is destroyed.
The visit continued by introducing archive storage media in the Archives Office, such as filing cabinets, shelves and roll o packs. The procedures for storing archives in each type of archive storage and the differences between each type were also practiced.
The visit continued with a direct view of the Archive Gallery as a Memory of Universitas Sumatera Utara.
The event was closed with the submission of souvenirs from the USU Archives Office as a thank you and a group photo.
