USU ARCHIVES: A few months ago, the USU Archives Office conducted field verification on 41 work units within the USU environment to assess and select who among them would be the best Archives Unit II and Archives Manager in 2023. Well, on Friday, December 15, 2023, the "USU Awarding Night" of the Student Achievement Award, Alumni Award and USU Archives 2023 was held at the USU Auditorium Building in the framework of the 71st Anniversary of Universitas Sumatera Utara. as well as reading the winners of the Archiving Unit II and Best Archive Manager 2023 awards.

The winners of the Best Archives Unit II Award are:
First place: Basic Science Laboratory (@officiallidausu)
Second place: University Secretariat Administration (@sekretaris.usu)
Third place: Faculty of Cultural Sciences (@fib.usu)

The winners of the Best Archive Manager award are:
First place: Sri Kurniadani (Basic Science Laboratory)
Second place: Harum Zakiah Lubis (University Secretariat Administration)
Third place: Andika Iskandar Mak Dunia (Faculty of Cultural Sciences)

This assessment coincides with the internal archival supervision in 2023, carried out as an archives audit using supervisory instruments provided by the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI). The assessment indicators are:

  1. Aspects of Archive Creation, including the creation and receipt of archives;

  2. Aspects of Archive Use, including availability, lending facilities, and presentation of active archives;

  3. Archive Maintenance Aspects, including filing, storage, transfer of active archive media, maintenance of vital archives and filing and reporting of preserved archives;

  4. Aspects of Archive Depreciation, including the transfer of inactive archives:

  5. Human Resources Aspects; and

  6. Archives Infrastructure and Facilities Aspect.

Congratulations to the winners; hopefully, they will excel even more in the following years and become role models for other archiving units.
