USU ARCHIVES: The Mock Test at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Sumatera Utara was carried out on June 07, 2023, by the External Archival Field Verification Team of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) accompanied by the Head of the Archives Office of the University of Sumatera Utara as the Archival Supervisor at USU. This is a series of archives supervision field verification activities by the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia.

The arrival of the External Archives Field Verification Team of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia consisting of Team Leader Dra. Krihanta, M.Si as Principal Archivist, Yuanita Utami, S.I.p as Junior Archivist and Pulung Prasetiyo as First Archivist of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia.

The visit was welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business of USU, Dr. Fadli, SE, M.Si; in his remarks, he said, "Thank you to the Archives Office for providing archival guidance so that the Faculty of Economics and Business was designated as one of the archival sampling sites in the archival supervision field verification activities by the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia."

The test of the Faculty of Economics and Business archives conducted in the Archives Depot room on the 2nd floor of the USU Faculty of Economics and Business Building was carried out quite successfully. The archive depot room has sufficiently met the archival standards; it just needs to be equipped with equipment and fire hazard protection tools according to the provisions.

The management of inactive archives at the Faculty of Economics and Business has begun to be carried out by archive managers, but several things need attention:

  1. Availability of inactive archive management facilities: inactive archives must be stored in folders and boxes and equipped with identity.

  2. The arrangement of inactive archives should be based on the principle of origin; inactive archives are organized based on each processing unit.

  3. The list of inactive archives should add a "store location" column according to the identity on the inactive archive shelf to find inactive archives more quickly.
