Working Visit from Pematangsiantar Regional Inspectorate to Universitas Sumatera Utara Archives Office

USU ARCHIVES: The working visit was carried out by archivists and archive managers from the Pematangsiantar Regional Inspectorate. The activity lasted 1 day, namely on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, and was held offline at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Archives Office. Seven participants attended the visit. The visit activity began at 09.10 AM and was opened directly by the Head of the USU Archives Office, Aisyah, SE, M.Si. The series of visit activities included Opening and delivering the Overview, Sharing sessions, filling out questionnaires, offering an Office tour of the USU Archives and closing with a group photo.

The overview was delivered by the Head of the USU Archives Office, Aisyah, SE., M.Si. In her delivery, she said thank you for the visit and thank you to the Inspector of the Pematangsiantar Regional Inspectorate and all Archivists who have chosen the Universitas Sumatera Utara Archives Office as the object for a working visit. She also shared knowledge to develop insight and archival information for Archivists.

Universitas Sumatera Utara Archives highly appreciates the steps taken by the participants of the visit because choosing the Archives Office to increase knowledge, experience, and learning is very good considering the dynamics and changes to the profession, as well as developments in information science in general and archives in particular, which are growing.

After the Opening as well as the delivery of the overview by the Head of the USU Archives Office, Aisyah, SE, M.Si. continued with a sharing session as well as remarks and introductions from the Inspector of the Pematangsiantar Regional Inspectorate, Herri Okstarizal, SH, MH CGCAE. The sharing session discussed many topics, starting with providing archival infrastructure such as roll o pack cabinets, archive boxes, and folders where textual archives are stored. After the question and answer session, continued with an office tour and closed with a group photo.

The Inspector of the Pematangsiantar Regional Inspectorate, Herri Okstarizal, SH, MH CGCAE, also said that the USU Archives Office is very suitable as a role model and object for learning activities because there is so much that can be obtained from the USU Archives Office. Welcomed by the Head of the USU Archives Office, Aisyah, SE, M.Si also said that the USU Archives Office acts as a center for learning and collaboration that strengthens the University's reputation, and through visits from internal and external parties provides opportunities for employees at the USU Archives Office to share knowledge, discuss, and develop insights from various perspectives. This can encourage innovation in archive management.

The head of the Archives Office of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Aisyah, SE, M.Si, introduced the VHS Cassette Media Expert Archive and explained how to use photo archive media transfer facilities without touching the photo object.
