USU Archives Office Holds Archival Appraisal Committee Meeting for Records Disposition

The Archives Office of Universitas Sumatera Utara conducted an Archival Appraisal Committee Meeting on Thursday, 11 December 2025, as part of the records disposition process within the USU environment. The meeting aimed to evaluate records that have exceeded their retention period in order to determine their final status in accordance with the Records Retention Schedule and applicable archival regulations. This activity supports orderly, effective, and accountable records management as part of USU’s commitment to good university governance.

USU ARCHIVES: The Archives Office of Universitas Sumatera Utara carried out an Archival Appraisal Committee Meeting as part of the records disposition process within Universitas Sumatera Utara on Thursday, 11 December 2025. This activity forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure records management is orderly, systematic, and in compliance with prevailing archival laws and regulations.

The Archival Appraisal Committee Meeting was intended to assess records that have passed their retention period in order to determine their final disposition, whether they should be destroyed or permanently preserved. This process is essential to ensuring effective, efficient, and accountable records management within Universitas Sumatera Utara.

 

The meeting was attended by members of university leadership, representatives of relevant work units, and members of the Archival Appraisal Committee who possess the competence and authority in the field of archives. Various aspects were discussed, including lists of records proposed for destruction, records proposed for permanent preservation, and their conformity with the applicable Records Retention Schedule.

 

Through the implementation of this meeting, the USU Archives Office expects the records disposition process to be carried out in accordance with established procedures, to support professional university records governance, and to preserve the value of records as sources of information and institutional accountability.

 

The Archives Office of Universitas Sumatera Utara remains committed to continuously improving the quality of records management in support of good university governance.
