ARSIP USU: Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has once again achieved a brilliant accomplishment by being selected as one of the nominees in the 2025 National Best Network Node Selection. This award is given to institutions that demonstrate excellent performance in managing network and information technology infrastructure within higher education environments.
The 2025 SJTN selection is divided into 3 categories (Western, Eastern, and Ministry/Agency/State University regions), with one of the requirements being the result of B supervision. In this stage (presentation and interview), 31 network nodes were selected as nominees. This activity was conducted online and was officially opened by the Director of Archival Information, Rudi Anton, SH, MH, and took place on May 16, 2025.

The National Best Archival Network Node Selection is a prestigious event organized by the National Archival Information Network Node Center (SJIKN) of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia. This event aims to improve the quality of JIKN's operations in providing access and quality archival services to the public, as well as leveraging archives for the welfare of the people. It also seeks to foster enthusiasm and motivation among National Archival Institutions, Provincial Archival Institutions, Regency/City Archival Institutions, University Archival Institutions, and archival units within state institutions and State-Owned Enterprises to fulfill their roles as network nodes.

As a nominee, USU participated in a series of presentations and interviews before the judging panel. USU continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability through targeted and measurable digital archive management, and ensures continuous digitalization processes to preserve the university's intellectual heritage. Through active involvement in SIKN–JIKN, the USU Archive Office also strengthens the national archival data ecosystem. In fact, USU is currently developing its role as one of the pilot nodes for innovation-based campus networks in Indonesia.

Archives are not just about preserving the past, but also about shaping the future. And archival management is not merely an administrative task, but a form of intellectual responsibility to safeguard the institution's identity, sustainability, and reputation.
Through development strategies, leading innovations, and a commitment to continuous digitalization via SIKN JIKN, the Universitas Sumatera Utara Archive Office is determined to become an adaptive, innovative, and inspiring archival network node at the national level.
