The conference aimed to encourage collaboration between various disciplines and expand research horizons at the international level. It took place over three days, from October 28 to 30, 2024, at the University Club (UC) Hotel UGM Yogyakarta.
ICoASHE 2024 carries the theme “Sustainable Archiving, Education, and Cultural Preservation on Global Approach”, focusing on the subthemes:
Embracing the Digital Transformation: Innovations and Challenges in Archiving, Education, and Cultural Preservation.
Integrating Sustainable Practices in Archival Systems: Lessons From Best Practices

The opening of the ICoASHE 2024 event was attended and opened by the Secretary of the University, Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu, SH., LLM and accompanied by the Head of Library and Archives, Arif Surachman, S.IP., M.B.A who also submitted a committee report. Keynote speakers at the ICoASHE 2024 event included the Vice-Rector for Education and Teaching UGM, Prof. Dr Wening Udasmoro, S.S., M.Hum., DEA. and Chairman of PAPTI, Prof. Dr H. Nandang Alamsah Deliarnoor, S.A.P., S.H., M.Hum.

The delegation of the Universitas Sumatera Utara who attended the event, namely, the Head of the University Archives Office, Aisyah, SE., M.Si and Archives Office Staff, Raisa Dwi Safitri, S.S.I. The delegation of the Archives Office was also a Call for Paper presenter for the title “How Artificial Intelligence Technology Supports The Description and Processing of Historical Photo Archives”.

The 4th ICoASHE activity is expected to encourage collaboration and innovation in the fields of archives, social sciences, and humanities, raise awareness of the importance of sustainable information management for a better future, become the leading platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners to share the latest insights and research findings in the fields of archives, social sciences, humanities, and education; increase awareness and practical skills in disaster risk management, especially in the context of preserving archives, libraries, and museum collections; efforts to strengthen collaboration and build the capacity of cultural institutions in dealing with disaster risk.
