The ICoASHE 2021 conference was held offline and online and was attended by members of the Indonesian Higher Education Archives Association, Leaders of Archival Institutions, Archivists, Academics, Students and Researchers in the Field of Social Science Archives, Humanities, Education Government Institutions and other Agencies. Also present were the Head of the Archives Office of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Mrs. Aisyah, SE, M.Si, and staff at the USU Archives Office.
Universitas Brawijaya was appointed by the Indonesian Higher Education Archives Association (PAPTI) as the host in organizing the International Conference on Archives Social Science, Humanities and Education or ICoASHE 2021 as a result of an agreement during ICoASHE at UNAIR in 2019 and is the third ICoASHE. Previously, ICoASHE was held at Universitas Sumatera Utara (2018) and Universitas Airlangga (2019).
The chairman of the ICoASHE 2021 committee, Dr. Hamidah Nayati Utami, M.Si, said that the theme of ICoASHE 2021 is Digital and Information Governance: Strategic Roles, Challenges and Current Innovations in Higher Education and raised sub-themes: information organization and digital humanities, record and information management, static archive administration, information policy and strategy.
Dr. Hamidah Nayati Utami, M.Si explained that the purpose of ICoASHE 2021 is to develop innovation and good governance in Higher Education Archives Institutions in Indonesia and build awareness of the community, nation and state in archives. In addition, this International Conference aims to provide knowledge and experience for archivists and archive management personnel of universities in Indonesia.
The speakers at the ICoASHE 2021 Conference came from abroad, namely Prof. Charles Jeurgens (University van Amsterdam, The Netherlands), Assoc. Prof. Wan Satirah Wan Mohd. Saman, Ph.D (Faculty of Information Management UiTM Malaysia) and Assoc. Prof. Iyra Buenrostro-Cabbab, Ph.D (School of Library and Information Studies, University of the Philippines).
Meanwhile, the speakers from within the country were Prof. Dr. Ahmad Najib Burhani, M.A., National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Drs. Sumrahjadi, MIMS from ANRI, and Dr. Hamidah Nayati Utami, an academic from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya.
After that, continued with the Parallel Session, which was attended by the Head of the USU Archives Office, Mrs Aisyah, SE., M.Si, with the paper title “The Relationship of Mompreneur Optimism as Performance Improvement Through Support Of Innovation And Market Orientation” and USU Archives Office Staff Raisa Dwi Safitri, S.Si with the paper title “The Urgency of Rescuing and Securing University Static Archives Through Digital Preservation”.
After the ICoASHE Conference, PAPTI held a National Work Meeting on Friday, October 29, 2021, which was held in a hybrid system.
