USU Archives: The staff of the Archives Office of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Luknah Uyuni, S.Sos participated in the 2024 Technical Working Meeting on the Strategy for Providing Access and Archive Information Services organized by the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia on November 12-14, 2024 in Jakarta. Echelon level II officials attended this activity in the ministries/institutions, regional archives institutions, and state universities, and they are members of the SIKN and JIKN Network Nodes.

The activity was opened by the Acting Head of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia, Drs. Imam Gunarto, M.Hum. In his opening remarks, he said, “The SKN and JKN technical working meeting in 2024 aims to improve access and archival information services to the public through synergy between stakeholders,” he said. Archives are important in organizing public information in Indonesia, supporting transparency and public access to relevant data through the constitutional mandate and presidential order. History is shaped by the actions and decisions of individuals in government, especially in archive management, so everyone has a responsibility to record and present important information.

This activity aims to make open archival information originating from archival treasures physically managed in all network node institutions spread throughout Indonesia, which can be easily utilized or accessed by users wherever they are via the Internet.
The event continued with a question-and-answer session and a panel discussion. At the end of the event, the Socialization and Election of the Management of the Association of LKD Heads throughout Indonesia (ALKADESI) Period 2024 - 2027 was also held.
