Universitas Sumatera Utara through its Directorate of Governance, Legal Affairs, and Archives conducted an Archival Mentorship program at the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The activity was part of efforts to improve the quality of archival management within the university to become more organized, systematic, and aligned with applicable archival standards.


The activity took place at the Faculty of Law USU and was attended by faculty leaders, archive managers, and educational staff within the Faculty of Law. The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Law USU, Dr. Zulfi Chairi, S.H., M.Hum. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of archival management as part of good administrative governance and in supporting effective and accountable academic services.
The opening remarks were followed by the Secretary of the Directorate of Governance, Legal Affairs, and Archives, Dr. Ir. Erwin, S.T., M.T. On that occasion, he stated that the archival mentorship activity serves as one of the strategic steps to improve the understanding and competence of archive managers within Universitas Sumatera Utara.



The mentorship program included presentations on active archive management, archive arrangement procedures, and archival management practices in accordance with archival standards. Participants were also given the opportunity to engage in discussions and sharing sessions regarding challenges and obstacles in archive management within their respective work units.
Through this activity, the Directorate of Governance, Legal Affairs, and Archives hopes to create more optimal archival management within the Faculty of Law USU to support the realization of professional, effective, and sustainable university governance.
