ARSIP USU – The 2025 SIKN–JIKN National Network Coordination Meeting was held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the Noerhadi Magetsari Room, Building C, 2nd Floor, National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI), Jl. Ampera Raya No. 7, South Jakarta. Universitas Sumatera Utara was represented by its archival staff member, Raisa Dwi Safitri, A.Md. The coordination meeting was conducted in an in-person format, consisting of ceremonial sessions, material presentations, and discussion forums.

The event began with an opening session, followed by a report presented by the Director of Archival Information, Rudi Anton, S.H., M.H. In his report, he stated, “This coordination meeting is organized to strengthen national coordination between ANRI as the central node and the regional nodes, enhance synergy with stakeholders to improve public archival information services, and serve as a forum to discuss challenges and exchange knowledge among network nodes in the implementation of SIKN–JIKN. It also aims to disseminate the results of network node mapping and present strategic programs and recommendations for the 2025–2026 SIKN–JIKN implementation.”

The session continued with a keynote address from the Head of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Mego Pinandito, M.Eng., who stated, “The network nodes across provinces, regencies, and cities preserve invaluable records that play an essential role in nation-building. We need strong human resources — not only to carry out archival duties but also to implement new concepts that improve archive accessibility. Our role in managing, storing, and presenting archives is therefore of great importance.”

After the speeches and reports, the event continued with the signing of a joint commitment among representatives of provincial, regency, and municipal archival institutions participating in the SIKN and JIKN networks. The signing was witnessed by the Head of ANRI and the Acting Deputy for National Archival Systems and Information. This act reaffirmed a shared commitment to supporting the integration of a digital-based national archival system and strengthening interregional collaboration to promote transparent, accountable, and integrated archival management — thereby accelerating digital archival transformation and fostering cross-sectoral collaboration.

The 2025 SIKN–JIKN National Network Coordination Meeting served as an important platform to reinforce synergy among network nodes and improve the overall quality of national archival management. Universitas Sumatera Utara’s participation as a network node since 2021 — and its recognition as one of the best national nodes — underscores its commitment to preserving the nation’s collective memory, accelerating digitalization, and enhancing access to archival information.

It is hoped that the outcomes of this meeting will serve as a foundation for continued collaboration, innovation, and the advancement of an integrated, inclusive, and sustainable SIKN–JIKN system for the betterment of the nation.
