USU Archives Office Holds Archival Appraisal Committee Meeting for Records Disposition

The Archives Office of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has carried out activities to destroy the USU Finance Bureau Archives from 2004 to 2014 as many as 2925 files, listed in the list of archives destroyed attached 237 sheets which were carried out on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. The destruction of this archive was carried out in total by chopping.
This activity was attended by the Secretary of Universitas Sumatera Utara Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar M.Ked (OG), Sp.O.G, Subsp.F.E.R, Records Creator Unit from USU Bureau of Finance, Directorate of Law and Organization Agung Firmansyah, S.H., M.H and Internal Control Agency Muhammad Rijal Balatif, SE.

In his remarks, he said that archive destruction is one way to reduce the number of archives so that the organization of archives becomes effective and efficient, facilitates the retrieval of the archives needed, and provides a place for new archives. "Therefore, the destruction of archives that are by procedures and destroyed both physically and information will create new archives, namely vital archives from destruction, which can one day be used as evidence in the event of a legal request and saved from misuse by irresponsible parties," he concluded.

The Destruction of the USU Bureau of Finance Archives by the Committee Chairperson and the University Secretary was witnessed by the archive creator unit, the Internal Control Agency and the Directorate of Law and Organization.
