This simulation was carried out to increase awareness, concern, and skills of the academic community at Universitas Sumatera Utara on the importance of preparedness to save and maintain the collective memory, history, and identity of Universitas Sumatera Utara, both before, during and even after a disaster or fire.



This APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher) training aims to provide archive managers with an understanding of APAR's function and train archive managers to use APAR appropriately and correctly to deal with fires on a small scale.
In addition, it also explained the characteristics of the condition of APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher) that is ready for use:
The position is still sealed
There is a Safety Pen
The APAR check label (date of inspection and APAR condition) is still functioning
The pressure barometer needle must be in the green area with up to 17 bar pressure.

Gema Halelu Isa Meliala, ST, MT, as Head of the Rescue Division of Medan City Fire Department, also conveyed how to use APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher) properly and correctly with the steps:
Open the seal by turning the pin
Pull the pin APAR
Take a position not against the wind direction. How to find out the direction of the wind, pay attention to the smoke, and not stand in a position to challenge the smoke. Standing position about 1.5 m - 3 meters from the fire
Lift the fire extinguisher and point the hose spout towards the fire.
Spray the fire by pressing the lever on the extinguisher.
