Rescue and Preservation of static archives is an effort to maintain static archives in the best possible condition so that they can last a long time.

The report of the submission of the damaged static archive.
Mechanism and Procedure
The archive office receives a cover letter;
Recording and receiving the archives to be repaired;
Submission of damaged static archives for further preservation;
The minutes of submission and the list of archives submitted are each made in duplicate, with the following provisions;
The first sheet is for the Archive Author;
The second sheet for the University Archives Office;
Officials from the Archive Creation Unit and officials from the University Archives Office sign the report of submission;
Form a static archive rescue and preservation team;
Coordinating for the preparation of preservation actions;
Photographing before preservation to see the condition before preservation is carried out;
Numbering archive sheets so that they are not lost or cluttered;
Checking the condition of the archive;
Cleaning the archive using a dust vacuum, air gun or brush;
Determination of the restoration method to be used;
Making a report on the physical documentation of the archive (condition of the archive, preservation method, date, staff who carried out the preservation);
Deacidification, which neutralizes the acid in the paper;
Preservation and restoration of archives with techniques: manual patching and joining, leafcasting, paper splitting and sizing, encapsulation or binding;
Taking pictures after the repair to see the condition after preservation and restoration; and
Make a list of archives that have been preserved and restored.
