Service Archive Destruction

Background

Archive destruction is an action or activity to destroy the archive and the identity attached to it physically, carried out in total so that it can no longer be recognized in content and form. It is carried out if it has reached the age of destruction based on the archive retention schedule and the archive destruction procedure by the applicable provisions set by Universitas Sumatera Utara.

  2. Report of Archive Destruction

Mechanism and Procedure

  1. Formation of archive appraisal committee;
  2. Selection of archives based on the Archive Retention Schedule;
  3. Making a list of archives proposed for destruction;
  4. Archive assessment of archives to be destroyed by the archive committee;
  5. Request for approval of archive destruction from the head of the archive creator based on the JRA.
  6. The Head of the National Archives must approve archives with a retention of at least 10 years.
  7. Archives with a retention period of less than 10 years only need approval from the head of the archive creator and a copy from the Head of the National Archives.
